In this talk, we will discuss some of the central themes of Epicurean philosophy, and explore how we can integrate its insight in our lives today.

It is a special flower that has been a popular theme of Japanese paintings and poetry for centuries. Ume symbolises perseverance and hope, as well as beauty, purity, and the transitoriness of life.
The 3rd winter session will focus on character 雪 Yuki (Snow) and explore The Art of Winter.
The 2nd winter session will focus on character 松 Matsu (Pine tree) and explore The Art of Matsu. Matsu is a Japanese auspicious tree and iconic symbol that represents longevity, youth, eternity and power. Matsu is especially used at the beginning of the year as a New Year decoration.
This 1st winter session of Japanese Calligraphy series will focus on character 初 - Hatsu (Hajime) and explore The Art of Beginning. The concept of a new beginning is symbolic and is surrounded by various practices. The start of the new year represents new beginnings to the Japanese, which signifies the best time to refresh one’s blessings, recite prayers and reflect on wishes for the coming days.
