In Japan, the term is often associated with traditional values of frugality and respect for the environment. Mottainai encourages individuals to think about the impact of their actions on the world around them and to strive for sustainability in all aspects of life. The concept emphasises the importance of avoiding excess and living in harmony with nature. This talk will explore ways how Japanese people make a conscious effort to preserve what we already have and recycle as much as possible.
