Central to this mindset are the concepts of Gambaru (to persist and give one’s best effort) and Nakama (close-knit comradeship), which together enable Japanese people to achieve what might seem impossible. During the talk, we will discuss how this mentality is reflected in Japanese culture, including examples from the popular anime One Piece, where characters demonstrate the power of mutual support and determination. We’ll also explore how this sense of bonding and teamwork translates to sports, where shared effort and camaraderie are deeply ingrained.
