By looking at a group of contemporary artists, discover how memories inspired them to create some of their best-loved paintings. How do you picture a distant and hazy memory? Is it possible to evoke that dream-like childhood landscape that lingers in your mind years later? Furthermore, is our memory always reliable? Focusing on the mysterious Canadian landscapes of Peter Doig’s childhood and moving to Luc Tuymans’s explorations of collective memory, we will explore this theme through specific painterly examples.
