The Value of Art: A Look at the Art Market

Scheduled to coincide with the major Frieze Art Fair in London, join Contemporary Art Specialist Bojana Popovic, to learn more about what makes some art works worth millions. In this lecture we will explore what makes an artwork valuable and what set of guidelines to look out for when buying art, whatever the price range. We will discuss the importance of provenance, exhibition history,  as well as other details inherent to the work itself – such as medium, size and condition. By looking at examples of world record prices at auction that were achieved in the past 5 years, we will analyse case studies that will focus heavily on Modern and Contemporary artists, including Lucian Freud and Jean Dubuffet.
