In this talk we will discuss stories which have a power to change a price tag of an artwork considerably. From fascinating examples showing how art provenance can impact the value of art to stories about forgeries explaining why we value original painting so much more than even a masterfully done copy.

This lecture will draw parallels between a selection of prominent contemporary artists who are using their creative practices to bring to light political issues of present day.

Looking beyond 2D and 3D art, we will explore artists who create windows into new worlds through their immersive installation art works. Key artists we will explore are Yayoi Kusama, James Turrell, Olafur Eliasson.

This talk will focus on icons of pop art: Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, James Turrell, George Condo and Takashi Murakami.
